Re: Idol. Maybe they don't intend to keep Cara? Yeah, I know; it's probably wishful thinking.
Re: ATWT. The real show flounders and may be cancelled.
Are they considering cancelling the entire show? I hear no news on this, as I don't visit any fan sites...
The writing sucks. The acting pulls it out of the gutter, but there's only so much they can do.
Yes.
Re: GPP. And pants. Keep me posted. If it doesn't work and we need plan C for D*C09, we'll find an intermediary sollution, and I'll make your breeches after the convention. I mean, I do think this is one you intend to reprise... ;)
Re: My little tasks here... Things are moving smoothly, and that is a Good Thing.
ATWT's ratings are in the gutter. Yes, they may cancel the entire show. "The Young and the Restless" is the most popular show, but overall, the genre is dying.
On ATWT, too much of the writing is story-driven and not character driven. Plus, they have potentially the hottest couple on daytime in Nuke, but they're afraid to use them, so the bigots are unhappy because they're on at all, and the rest of us are unhappy because they've been underutilized.
That's why some of the fan fic's so good. They are filling a void. Spookything could write for a soap. She understands the genre: missed communications, clashing personalities, angst, and cliffhangers. Yes.
I have to say I'm so intimidated by the pants, I'm almost paralyzed. I have not sewn anything yet. It's just cut out.
ATWT... Should it go, I will mourn. It's been in the background of my life since I was five, or even younger. My mom used to watch it, & that's how it began for me.
The writing has had it's ups and downs. Lately, it's really sucking.
Pants... I understand the fear. Sew anyway. Don't think, (lol,) just follow the instructions. (Sure hope they're good ones.) Use a wide stitch, to facilitate taking them apart once you're done. (I always use my muslin as the pattern.)
If it doesn't work, we'll improvise until I can make you a pair.
My mom and I used to watch "Days of Our Lives" and "Another World." DOOL sucks these days, too, from what I've heard (They got rid of Deidre Hall - a bigger name than Martha Byrne, although it might have been a publicity stunt.). And AW was done many years ago.
Pants - the biggest enemy is time. I had a PFLAG meeting today, so I haven't gotten as far as I'd like. We'll see...
Re: Idol - will I miss Paula? No. While I like her as a person, I have not always (or often) found her critiques to be helpful. They often border on the side of drivel, IMHO! That being said, will the show be the same without her? No. But I also won't miss the bickering between her and Simon. I think all the bickering needs to be eliminated (so unprofessional). But enough on that.
What I was really going to respond to is about your seamstress. Is she okay (healthwise) or is she just swamped with a lot of work? Just wondering.

I definitely intend to wear it again, hehe.

Nancy broke her hip earlier this year and has had nerve trouble since getting a replacement, so she's not feeling that great.
