I'm curious as to the effectiveness of snogging.

It's about on par with Edward's "Hide" command, or possibly Porom's crying in the hardtype.

Oh, snogging is very powerful. Powerful enough to make hardcore HP fans wrinkle their noses in disgust at the juvenile plot line and lack of character development. Oh, wait, are we just talking about it in a console RPG way? :)
