taxidermy update!

remember when i said i found a guy on ebay who sells squirrel pelts (to those of you i know personally), i had intended to order them to skip the whole skinning process and just jump right into the taxidermy part, i have my mannequins, am about to order some glass eyes, i'd consider myself well on my way. so long story short, i got it in the mail ( Read more... )

I took a taxidermy course at Uni in my museum studies program...good times (you have to watch out for OLD taxidermied items because arsenic was used in the process...) I went on to vaccuum bears at one of our national museums, and that was kind of weird and fun though.

I hope I never receive a dead animal in the mail.

hahahaha! when are you going to skin it? if you need help, lemme know. i'm really good at skinning rodents. but i've never done one that was dead for a really long time, or pre-frozen. but i'm sure it's all the same... :)

I have to read your live journal to find out that you were unwrapping a dead squirrel in my presence!?!?!?
