I can see Cardinal Basil Hume smiling gently at that description of him as he was a good man.

Your new cooker is very like mine - except I have no knobs to clean! Hurrah! Mine has a digital touch pad instead. Are double ovens unusual in the USA? They are more or less the default in Britain, it is unusual to find one with only a single one unless it is a very cheap one.

As for the AC needing replacing - bother! At least it is one problem we are not going to have.

LJ is playing mean tricks on me. I answered you and Lorelei, but my answers have disappeared. Frank would make a fine MLT sandwich! I'd eat it with gusto. And a little mustard ( ... )

I think the Green Rose looks alien! Mutant is about right.

I do, too! I'm adjusting to the cooktop, but I'm saving more oven work until the a/c is fixed!

I am thinking that your whole yard must be full of scent.

The backyard smells delicious. The peonies in the front yard are very smelly, but they are almost too sweet!

It depends on the humidity and heat on whether some roses have much fragrance. There are times Sweet Chariot is amazing, and there are other times when I don't detect much scent. Aloha is always, always a delight to smell.

This is what we got, and I'm really surprised at that price, because we got it on sale and with discounts and rebates for about $1225. I obviously got a good deal! It's the nicest range I've ever had.

Thanks!

I am really enjoying your tour around the roses. I love the way you write about them.

I am a bit jealous of your stove.

I'm so glad. I know I'm a bit dotty about my roses. Once my son came outside, and when he saw me, he turned to go back in the house. I called out to him, and he apologized for interrruping, saying, "I didn't realize you were having a moment with your roses. Don't let me interrupt!" Silly boy. I was just encouraging Mister Lincoln to hang in there and not die, but he ended up not making it.

I know! I'm incredulous about my stove! Finally, I have a window for my oven. I love that so much! And more than one burner that works. Luxury!
