LJ is playing mean tricks on me. I answered you and Lorelei, but my answers have disappeared. Frank would make a fine MLT sandwich! I'd eat it with gusto. And a little mustard.
I'm glad Cardinal Hume was remembered with a rose of such a rich color. He spots in my yard, but our climate is very tough on most roses. I'm sure he is fabulous in kinder areas. It's very nice that the rose was created in 1984 so that the Cardinal was aware of the honor bestowed upon him. I think it makes more sense to honor people when they are with us rather than posthumously.
Here, nicer kitchens have double wall ovens and a built-in cooktop. http://r2.cygnuspub.com/files/cygnus/image/KBDN/2010/MAR/600x400/distinctivedoublewalloven_10154157.jpg Average homes have a range with a single oven, and that's what I've always owned to this point. It's going to be such a luxury to cook two items with different temperatures rather than try to find an intermediate that won't burn the one or leave the other raw in the middle!
Bojojr and I researched induction stoves, and I would have liked to try one, but the price was prohibitive. No knobs would have been nice, but I'm happy with what I've got!
I'd be baking cookies (no added sugar/high fiber/high protein) right now, but it's too humid and muggy. Looks like we're in for some severe weather again tonight. Poor Oklahoma is scheduled for it, too. It's as though the worst stuff has been confined to Oklahoma this year, and it hasn't crossed state lines (although the people affected by tornadoes in Kansas would disagree with that, but statistically we've seemed to have fewer).
I lived for 23 years without air conditioning. I'm willing to admit that I'm a wussy modern woman. I want my air conditioning. Mr. Bojo was talking about a project I was working on upstairs, and I informed him that all work on that had stopped until the house was cooler! Upstairs is always much warmer, anyway. Thank goodness the a/c went out now instead of July or August.
