My MIL made great pies. I wouldn't even try to attempt to match her lemon meringue or cherry cream.

But, thankfully, I've not had to contend with comparisons, either!

Cute poem and your story made me chuckle! Darning socks... love that!

I am fortunate in that, if my husband doesn't like the way I do something (like cooking a specific dish) he does it himself. This is a fantastic quality that I do love very much :) It results in many meals cooked by him, since he's so picky about how his meat is done!
