I work in a distribution warehouse.  There are powered industrial equipment zooming around everywhere. These suckers have no brakes (only a reverse) and can weigh as much as 3 times the weight of a normal sized car (talk about staying out of traffic ( Read more... )

That is terrible news indeed. I hope that your company will bring in some sort of professional help to assist the staff in dealing with this tragedy. Since this is the first time in 40 years this has happened, your bosses have no experience with this. Please suggest this to them.

It's a very traumatic experience for everyone, including the higher ups.

I really hope work provides some kind of way to help you all through this. Like a grief counselor and safety consultants to make sure this doesn't happen again, or something.

I just felt silly that I was affected when I was nowhere near the incident.

It's completely natural to feel that way but at the same time, I would be worried if you weren't affected, you know? You're a very caring person, which makes you a caring manager.

Anyway, I hope you take enough time from taking care of the other manager to take care of yourself, too. *BIGHUGS*

That's utterly awful to hear (and the image of the bleach is so intense, so visceral, even just reading about it). Wishing you & everyone all the best under such tragic circumstances.
