Oh, the last week has been frenetically up and down. November is such a bipolar month. Dissolving into tears at the slightest thing one minute and then upupup!! the next. Saw Nana on Wednesday - she's looking terribly frail, like if you touched her she might snap, all bones and paper-thin skin on a body that used to be snuggly and buxom and full of

January - whatever we do I'll try and clear off by the 4/5th. New Years sounds good. Also I just bought my train tickets and I'm definitely in Plymouth on the 14th, so if you want to meet up for coffee/cocktails, give me a ring on the day. Probably easiest.
Good luck speeching!

i stumbled upon your journal and decided to add you.
it's quite an interesting coincidence that i found you, because i'm going to cambridge in december, for my interviews (english at clare). and i'm kind of a wreck right now, not knowing what to expect, how to prepare and so on.
i was wondering if you have any advice and what you think of studying in cambridge?

as for cambridge ... hmm. My own interviews were just talks, really, rather than question/answer sessions ... just me and the interviewer talking animatedly about something we were both passionate about. As long as you have ideas about what you've read and can articulate them intelligently (and are prepared to critically rethink them) you should be okay. Most of the people here, when we've talked about it, said they had a laugh with their interviewers - so I guess try not to be uptight. I actually really enjoyed my interviews, but then I wasn't really nervous, so I don't know what advice to give if you are. A little apprehensive, of course, but I was looking forward to talking to experts on my subject about something I loved. Look at it that way? Maybe it'll help.
Email me if you like. When are you coming up?
