ok world i havn`t posted in forever so here is something i threw together. i`ve gathered 50 songs off my ipod, taken a line of lyrics from each and posted them. the challenge for you journal readers is too get the song from which they were taken. a couple of notes; the lyrics are as i hear them so they may not be 100% correct and its cheating to ( Read more... )

Okay, here I go. I did these all on my own, no internets. Just a lot of stretching of my brain and some frustration when I could not remember the name of the fucking Smashing Pumpkins! And, as you will see, Classic Rock was my downfall. I'm not even sure the one I guessed is right ( ... )

It took me some HARD thinking to get some of them. Mercifully, it was after we were both in bed, so things were quiet and I could "hear" the songs in my head mostly.

A-ha was hard, it was only the second half of the line that got it for me. Hello was hard, because I wasn't thinking ballads. The Tiffany song was HARD because I was thinking of the original one, not the Tiffany one, because I NEVER EVER listened to Tiffany. I hated her with a fiery passion. And I couldn't think of the original artist - still can't. I initially put down the wrong song name for the Soundgarden song, I could remember Billy Corgan and James Iha from the Smashing Pumpkins, but could not initially remember the band name. And the only reason I knew the Weezer song was because of Julia Nunes, the YouTube Ukulele girl, because she covers the song on her YouTube site.

So it was definitely not easy for me. Sure I knew a lot of them off the top of my head, but not all of them.
