Mevlana Jelaluddin Rumi - I lost my world, my fame, my mind

Sep 30, 2013 11:14

I lost my world, my fame, my mind --
The Sun appeared, and all the shadows ran.
I ran after them, but vanished as I ran --
Light ran after me and hunted me down.

~wishing as I have noticed, would not even suffice until we partake of the actions we wished for..

but there are hindrances yet to be met
the obvious reason for non-participation

how different would life be,

IF ALL WISHES COME TRUE FOR YOU & ME!

I suspect
that shadow and light are friends to each other
as both are to me-- they cling together.
I suspect
that spirit and flesh love each other,
that each is false, alone.
And that the tap of the ruby slippers
brings transcendence to where one is.
Yes, even the mould
festering in the crawlspace. What a marvel!

Thank you. I read the "shadows" which flee the light as illusions, as all the "important" things (world, fame, mind, etc.)which take care of themselves once i stop worrying about them.
