I still don't get what people's problem is with "Crossroads". It's Winters' dark night of the soul! In Paris! With sleepy naked men and suspiciously friendly French boys! I could get why the Major is pissed about the whole train thing that makes him look like a pederast, but the whole "too artsy" criticism is not registering with me ( ... )

Yeah, I've always been sort of fond of it.

You're correct about the footlocker thing. It's established right from the first episode, from the first scene with Nix in it, that he really likes his booze. It just seems to start becoming problematic around here. (Also, now I'm reminded of the line in Winters' book where he says that he can't think of a greater honour than looking after Nix's booze. Which is just touching.)

The officers thing makes sense, now you mention it. Certainly I can see why they felt it wasn't a good idea to give Harry too much responsibility for the company, what with that short fuse of his. I think he ended up on battalion staff, an S-2.

Hmm, maybe it is becoming more of a problem here ... plotbunny. Anyone. Go.

Harry became S-2? Intelligence? The map guy? interesting.

- I can never watch the spoonflick too many times. Penk's expression is priceless.

Skip: *flicks Penk with spoon*
Penk: D: hey!

I think I shall watch BoB in French just so I can see how much I understand from taking 4 years of French in school.

- I don't know who's responsible for having to edit the episodes down to an hour when they run over, but I want to cuff them round the head. They cut both the bit where Spina's digging a foxhole and the "NUTS!" scene. It's like they're personally clipping out my favourite moments. (If they touch any part of the 'boozing it up on the balcony' scene from Points, you will be able to hear my anguished scream on the other side of the Atlantic.)

I bet.

BBC: *cuts boozing it up on the balcony scene*
Skew: NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!111

- I like that Buck gets his own Annoying College Boy moment. Pity there was never a scene where Malark recited poetry. That would've been nice. I wanted them to keep the original idea in the draft script where Spina and Roe stuck with each ( ... )

Heh, I did French for four years and I couldn't understand a damn thing, asides from "Allons-y!" for "Go!"

And it's not their fault there wasn't enough Spina, right? Something to do with Tony Devlin having other commitments. Psh. How dare he have a life.
Still, it would have been nice.

Lol. The funny part is, when I watch Bastogne in English, I can understand everything Gene says.

It's not their fault. How dare he have a life? There's history to retell!

Yeah, it would've been great.

Yeah, well, the French he and Renee speak is pretty basic stuff. Just enough to show that Gene could speak French a little, without confusing the audience.
