I decided to lock it down today. There was no traumatic event to precipitate that, no stalkers or anything. It's just that I'm becoming increasingly paranoid in my old age. I found recently that having a relatively unique name makes Googling me far too easy

I had to do the same thing about 6 months ago...

I make a conscious effort to post a few public posts just to keep a presence, but I am more comfortable speaking honestly if I know that my words are to friends, not the Blogosphere!

Hey B...not sure if you know this, but you can go into Manage Accounts, Viewing Options...and there's a checkbox to manage your journal from being seen my search engines. I did this long ago and I don't see my entries showing on google. :-)

I think I need to do the same. I have a nosy local bitch I knew in High School trying to contact me through my alter ego on flickr. I had to take the Halloween pictures off I had on there. Now I have to worry about her blabbing her mouth all over town. As you know I do not live in a gay friendly state.

I would love to stay on your friends list if it's cool with you.
