Well, I for one am glad that you've been able to get onto LJ as much as you have. It's nice to hear what's going on with you.

The school sounds like a little bit of chaos. I can't believe that they would just let them go about like that. Though, if it's worked for them for this long, it must work better than it sounds.

I realize, in my attempts to help create some peace and order, that I'm bringing my cultural assumptions into the space. I feel faintly that I shouldn't, but my alarm bells go off when I see children hitting each other...

I suspect I'd have problems not bringing my cultural assumptions into the space in that situation; but I guess it is a case of do as they do. It's worked fine so far for them... Although I think I would have to step in when small kids fight.
