Just stuff about what I've been up to

Wow. I just checked and it's been over a month since I've posted. It's not that I haven't had anything to say. In fact I think it's that I've had a lot going on and thus too much to say so when I think about updating I put it off. I'm lazy by nature, as most of you know. I guess I'll give a brief update on what I've been up to for those who ( Read more... )

Oh wow. I almost forgot to mention that last weekend I went to my 30th high school reunion.

I wondered how that went! Glad it went relatively well. Did you get to taste the "Czech Red' wine we saw on the winery website? :)

Can you believe that the people who moved into my old house had the nerve to *change* it?

The mind boggles. ;D

I tried the Czech Red. It was way too sweet for my tastes. I considered picking up a couple bottles for you and Sith but they were $20 each and I'm too cheap. *g*

I don't blame you. I wouldn't have bought it for me either. :)

Never a dull moment in your neck of the wookds, eh?

Or is it "never a dull moment wherever you are?" :)

Welcome back, and new toys are so mood-improving!

It sure hasn't been dull lately. I miss being bored. *g*

You had it right both ways. It can be "never a dull moment" in my neck of the woods or wherever I am.

New toys can be loads of fun. They can also be very frustrating, but that can be fun as well for the masochist in all of us. *g* I have to say I'm loving the new speakers and the monitor. It's so nice to be able to have itunes going and have such wonderful sound quality. Plus the 21" wide screen monitor is wonderful!

How are things with you? I'm really behind on LJ so have probably missed all sorts of good stuff from you.

A 21" screen would certainly improve anyone's mood :)

As for me, things are so-so : I've been feeling down since coming back from MW :(
Work was such a drag that I almost asked the doctor for a medical leave of absence. She sent me for some bloodwork and I must call her next week for the results, but I don't expect they found anything.
I'm just tired and moody as hell :(

Vacations are in mid-August and I'm beginning to consider going bother someone else again this year :)
Or maybe you could come up here? I'm trying to convince Katya to come too, but with school and everything, I'm not sure she'll be able to...

To be honest you seemed a little down at MW, although I think that was due to PMS.

Hopefully the tests come back with good results. If nothing else you may need to go on an antidepressant for a while.

Although I think the idea of having company or going some ( ... )

21" monitor and Bose speakers?

I'm jealous. *g*

I'd be jealous of me too. *g*

I figure after months of aggravation from the old* computer I deserved to treat myself.

* Of course, when I say "old" I mean "That piece of shit that wasn't even a year old yet but never worked right."

Glad to hear that Bud's doing better and that you had a decent time at the reunion. And congrats on your new 'puter!

Bud doing better is a definite plus. If nothing else it helps keep my mother just a little more sane. *g*

The computer is great, although it's an adjustment getting used to how normal things look on a wide screen monitor. Such a hardship, I know. *g*

Are you all settled in and ready for classes to begin?

Well, that's a lovely hardship to have. ;)

Oh, man, I haven't even thought about fall classes, it's been so busy. (Had my first stats test this week; what with having 2 classes every day of the week on a compressed 6-week summer schedule, we have at least 1, sometimes 2 tests a week. So I'll be plenty busy for the next 4 weeks or so.) I'm meeting w/my advisor on Tuesday to go over my classes for the fall. I'll have to read up on the details before meeting her; at this point I'm not even sure when classes are supposed to start. And I have to get the details on this graduate assistantship they offered me this past week too -- no idea what that's all about.

So things are a little nuts, in other words. But it's all a good kind of nuts, so I can't complain. *g*

At least it's the good kind of nuts. I'm just glad it's you and not me having to take all those tests. *g*

I just need to be more disciplined in making sure I write something. Of course with SGA back on I'm sure I'll find things to talk about. *g*
