Holiday Bakestravaganza

Thanks to all those who commiserated with my wheezy woes earlier this week. For the record, I broke down and started a course of the steroids, which has improved my breathing tremendously. Better yet, the weather is cooperating for once, and we got a nice amount of snow last night. Between the lovely, snow-covered landscape and my improved ( Read more... )

I bow to your baking prowess. That's quite a list of goodies you've prepared there!

As for the cake gallery, I don't believe I have ever seen such elegantly executed work of edible art! Totally amazing, it is!

Thank you! I didn't quite finish everything on my list, but I still have time. I have enough to put together a nice tray for my guests tomorrow, anyway. But I love the process of holiday baking. It makes me very happy. :-)

I'm glad you enjoyed the cake gallery. Aren't those cakes magnificent? I was very impressed with her work. The next time I need to go to Ann Arbor, I know I'll be popping in to see the sights and enjoy one of those delicious-sounding cupcakes.

Glad you're feeling better! And wow, I really admire your ambitious baking plans! I love to bake myself, but unless I've taken time off from work, I usually don't have enough energy to bake more than two types of cookies. This year it was chocolate chip and your pumpkin spice cookies. I was too lazy to make the icing, but it was still a hit with the family and my coworkers, so thanks for the recipe! ^_^

Oh, you're very welcome! I'm glad they enjoyed the cookies. I like those with or without the icing, too.

But yes, sometimes life just gets in the way of any ambitious baking plans. I'm on Winter Break right now--semester over, grades in, etc.--so I'm making the most of it. Frankly, it's a wonderful change of pace at the moment. But I were working this week... yeah, I don't know if I'd have made nearly as much progress.
