Yes, I'm still alive. Yes, I'm still writing. :-P (Exchange mods, I think I need to make a sacrificial offering to you. Or something. I'd offer my firstborn, but I suspect you wouldn't want that. Blonds, maybe? Covered in chocolate?) And yes, I'm still crazy busy

I'm sorry you've been blue lately. *hugs you* Hubby goes tanning when the SAD gets really bad. I'm sure it's all mental but somehow it helps. (he does argue on the sunscreen, but I've won that battle lol)
Your cousin is a smart woman! Enjoy trying all the new recipes and don't forget to share the best ones. =D

~hugs~ Thank you. It's just a whole bunch of small things from throughout the year snowballing into one big ball of unhappiness, I think. It will pass, and I know enough to be taking steps to make myself feel better. Tanning is an idea I hadn't considered, though I can see why it would help. You're smart to insist on the sunscreen, though! :D I'm also thinking about getting a sun lamp.
Ah, Cousin M is a very smart woman, but more than that, she knows me and she's a fellow baker. She knew I wouldn't want to miss an opportunity to try something new! I'm already eyeing new recipes to try for my usual cookie plate, and I'll be sure to share the results. (Well, virtually, even if I can't ship cookies to everybody.)

Sorry to hear about the whole being down thing. It's one reason why I so very much need snow in the winter - without it, the darkness is completely horrible; with it, it's at least a bit more tolerable. (And no matter what other factors there are in addition, I've found that the months of darkness never, ever help.)

~hugs~ I'm feeling better today, in no small part because we have more sunshine than we've seen in days. Amazing what a difference that sunlight makes! You're right about the snow, too--somehow, I feel soothed when I see the snow, but the relentless grey and dark without it can be very depressing. And wouldn't you know, I've been feeling low since we've had days of freezing rain that washed away the snow...

Othello can be my alarm clock, too, but he's fond of sitting on my chest and then staring me in the face. If that doesn't work, then he starts licking my face, which is quite the scratchy-tongue experience. It does work, though...
