Backstories R Us

Sep 26, 2008 11:21

I posted this meme the other day, in which I invited people to name a character from an array of fandoms (Harry Potter, Pet Shop of Horrors, House, Jeeves & Wooster or any of the Star Treks except for Enterprise), and in return, I would supply some backstory or a take on how I see/interpret the character. I posted it as a bit of fun, but it's ( Read more... )

*gasp*

Do you love Rowena/Salazar, too??!!

*screams*

My favorite Founders pairing. Best. Evar. During my early months in the fandom, I wrote an outline to a Rowena/Salazar where she has his baby after he leaves but conceals the pregnancy from all but Helga, and then she gives the baby up and Godric only finds out when the child comes to Hogwarts.

Yeah, it was pretty much a melodramatic love fest. It's since been eaten by my harddrive, which sort of makes me sad because I liked it, awful though it was.

*mad hugs for the uber-clever Bluestocking*

Yes, I'm a fellow Rowena/Salazar believer! (Although the slasher in me can also sometimes buy the idea of a very, very angsty affair between Salazar and Godric.) But yes, Salazar/Rowena sounds all too plausible to me. The tragic story of the Grey Lady and the Blood Baron certainly does suggest a very passionate, painful dynamic between Ravenclaws and Slytherins.

And then there's the fact that Rowena really is supposed to have died of a broken heart...

The facts about Madeline made me LOL. Dead accurate, especially #3! I liked all of the ones where I knew who you were talking about (I'm not familiar with all those fandoms).

I'm so glad you enjoyed! I had fun coming up with the facts for Madeline. She's the most incredible drip, but she's amusing! (I'm working on your Bertie and Jeeves bits right now.)

By the way, have you read Jeeves and the Tennis Coach? I just finished it this morning (I've had to read it in bits), but it's very enjoyable. Great voices, very clever, a plot that sounds like it's straight out of canon and a Jeeves who isn't always perfect.

I started to read it, but I went to bed after the first chapter and forgot about it the next morning.

The same thing happened to me, because I mostly get my chances to read late at night, and the story is long. Thankfully, I bookmarked it, so I got to read something like a chapter a night.

I'm particularly intrigued by your background information on Elim Barak and Gul Dukat. I think you should write a story about (one of) them. :)

Glad you enjoyed it! I'm not sure why, but I never have written any stories for DS9, or any of the other Trek fandoms. I have to admit, though, that I could enjoy writing a story about either or both of these men, because they have so many different facets to explore. Actually, they even have a connection: Garak eventually fell in love with Dukat's daughter, Ziyal.

Hmm... ~ponders plot ideas~

Until he survived Nagini's attack, and then he met the woman (or man) of his dreams and decided that sex was actually pretty fun after all, and he should have a lot more of it to make up for lost time.

Absolutely! *g*
