Best. Gift. Ever.

So 2010 has already started out with one beautiful reason to feel grateful! I found this in my inbox late last night, and it made me rather sniffly with joy. :D

~hugs~ Thanks! It was a wonderful surprise.

Check out the video when you can; it gives a good overview of what Heifer does and why it matters. And Alton Brown is always fun. :-)

What a wonderful idea for a charity, and so nice for you to receive the virtual gift (which I agree, you so richly deserve!).

*must not say anything about Peking Duck!*

:-)

Congrats, and Happy New Year!

Thank you very much, and a Happy New Year to you, too! I was very surprised by the gift, but I'm deeply touched by the generosity of these women.

And heh. *g* I already heard a joke about Peking Duck today when I mentioned the gift to somebody else! And yes, the ducks do provide protein that way... but the whole point is to get the flock breeding and for them to provide a steady source of renewable protein and income with the eggs they're laying. So yeah, one day they'll be eaten, but these little duckies are giving much more than that. :-)
