So 2010 has already started out with one beautiful reason to feel grateful! I found this in my inbox late last night, and it made me rather sniffly with joy. :D

Snape's Menagerie is a group of appreciative members of the fandom that banded together to raise money for a great cause and send a hard-earned giggle your direction. Our collective donations went to Heifer International, which provides livestock, seeds, or training to families struggling with hunger and poverty. Their gift-giving catalogue features a range of animals corresponding to various livestock. Snape's Menagerie was inspired by the gift giving catalogue and all of your hard work making the fandom a brighter and more entertaining place. We are happy to present you, Bluestocking, with the virtual gift of a flock of ducks. Alas, there were no owls to bequeath upon OWL Admins, but we hear that duck!fic is pretty popular in those quarters.

What a fantastic gift idea! I don't know how you all organized this, but I'm delighted that you did. Heifer International is one of my very favorite charities, precisely because the gifts that are given really do keep on giving, so I am beyond thrilled to see this. Enormous hugs and thanks to apolinnav, christev, clairvoyant12, firefly_124, juniperus, persevero, princessteradia, pyjamapants, slytherinlaurel, teshara, tudorpot and verus_janus. They are the members of Snape's Menagerie, and I think I speak for all of us when I say that both their generosity and general awesomeness are worthy of applause.
