~smile of contentment~

Had a wonderful visit with Cousin M and her husband and the Godkids today. They were delighted with their presents (indeed, they couldn't wait to play with them) and are now at an age when they get really, really thrilled about Christmas. I was especially tickled that Goddaughter liked the one present I picked up on a whim, which was a doll with ( Read more... )

Oh, thank you and welcome! I'm so pleased that you enjoyed the stories, and it's always a pleasure to make new friends. :-)

And yes, you're absolutely right about the children. They enjoy the little things in life, and it's beautiful to see. I was charmed by the fact that my Goddaughter was as admiring of the tag on her present as she was of the present itself!

About Crazy Aunt Joan... well, I just hope it works out well and she doesn't do something she'll regret. Just being engaged doesn't mean she has to hurry up and get married, especially since she and this man really know very little about each other. ~crosses fingers~

*HUGS* Sounds like you had fun!!! I love chocolate too! Its hard to stay away from it!

I've had the same thing happen to me that my great niece who is 3 resembles me a bit and my little cousin who is 4.

~hugs~ It is hard to stay away from chocolate, especially when everybody keeps giving it to you! But I'm putting this box out to share, because I just can't eat this much chocolate. Besides, it's fun to share. ;-)

I'm stunned at how much Goddaughter takes after me, right down to little quirks. I hope things are easier for her than they were for me!

Happy New Year to you, and I hope you have a good night.

I remember you talking about crazy Aunt Joan! Oy vey. That sounds difficult, to say the least. How old is this gentleman?

Otherwise, am v. happy that you've had such wonderful and blessed holidays. *squishes you*

Aunt Joan and her...fiance...are both in their mid-seventies, which should reassure us that they know what they're doing, but I'm afraid that a large part of Crazy Aunt Joan is and always will be a fifteen-year-old girl, so we worry. She's amazingly short-sighted about some things--the quintessential "leap before you look" Gryffindor type--and I'm afraid that she's more in love with the idea of being pursued than she is actually in love with Eddie. Hopefully, she can be persuaded to make it a long engagement, so she's really sure of what she's feeling.

And thank you! ~squishes~ These have been wonderful, soul-nourishing holidays, and I feel very grateful for that.

Snap on dresses! So much fun! Ah, I wish I was still a kid sometimes :)

This Christmas I got to watch my three-year-old boy cousin open the jumper that my mum knitted for him - with a tractor on. The result was SO VERY VERY CUTE. Possibly the cutest thing ever, hee!

Happy (almost) new year, you! :) xxx

And the same to you, Number One! ;-)

And I know, right? The toys are such fun. I have far too good a time shopping for the toys, remembering what I used to like and secretly, enviously thinking that I'd still like to play with some of these things. (I am not the only one. There was a display of this giant walking dinosaur thing at the shop, and all of us adults were clustered around in wistful awe.)

That sounds like the cutest cuteness imaginable! Was he very excited about the tractor sweater? My godson requires that all his clothing have some kind of motor vehicle on it (*g*), so I got him race car pyjamas to go with his race car slippers.
