Your cake isn't ugly. It looks old-fashioned yummy, made with love. Sounds like an overwhelming success with your dad. The meals you made sounds sumptuous as well. Cooking under duress, perhaps?

Thank you! Yeah, you're right about the cake being old-fashioned. I'm a huge fan of old-fashioned, rustic, retro baking, and I'm definitely a taste over appearance kind of girl.
