He's almost 28 and has spent the last 10 years in prison.
He has nine years left.
He's been using the time to get an education. Doing pretty well at it.
Lately he's doing his best to learn French.
His Spanish has gotten pretty good, but of course he's got a fair amount of people around who speak it to

I don't write French, unfortunately....but if he is just bored and wants someone outside to write, I'd be happy to do that!!!

It bothers me that whatever he did at age 18 (or probably 17, the way the system moves so slowly) caused him to have to give up more years than he had lived.

You have my email address, if you think that anything I say could bring him some joy or some interesting information, or whatever, I will happily write him.

Is he looking for a girlfriend-type pen pal, Marti? Or just nice people to correspond with? Or only people who speak French? I'm in the "nice person" category but who remembers very little of my high school French. I'd be happy to correspond, though!

My question is the same as the others. My french is rusty, but i think i'm in the nice person category, so if you think i might be able to offer him something interesting i would be please to do so.

I know this is late, but I was just scanning to see what I've missed in friend's journals, and I spotted this. I'd like to write to him as well, if he's interested in one more. My own son will be learning French next school year (going in to grade 6), so maybe I can copy pages of his books....

I took French myself, but it was a while ago. I can understand it a bit, but I couldn't come up with the words on my own. Anyway, tell me if he'd be interested, and I'll get in touch.
