This is very thought-provoking! A little uneven at times in dialog and pacing, but I could see the scene. *goes to sleep pondering*

Oh. My. God--I know what you mean. The story came to me in a very disjointed fashion, and I ended up with a bunch of polished individual lines and paragraphs that needed to be strung into a coherent narrative. I should have been more ruthless about cutting out lines, paragraphs, and probably even a couple concepts, because it was turning into the 'Supernatural' version of 'My Dinner with Andre,' but I'd worked too long on those individual sections to be able to give anything up. The original plan was to have a scene with Dean and Castiel as well, but there are only so many hundreds of words that you can spend on people talking.

It was meant to be thought-provoking, so I'm glad that the unevenness didn't dilute the impact too much. Thank you for commenting.

beautifully written, and I cried in the middle. I think my favorite part was when sam was talking about loosing his faith and castiel tried to comfort him...thanks for sharing

That was the hardest part to write, but also the most rewarding. I'm really glad that it had an impact.

Wow, this is really well-done and well-thought-out. Sam's reasoning and Castiel's responses are so logical and so eloquent that I hate it that we're not seeing this conversation on the show itself. I hope this is the direction the show is going. Great job!

As I mentioned in an earlier response, I'm really hoping that they at least give us a 'Houses of the Holy' moment soon. They've referenced Sam's faith enough times this season that it seems like there's a pretty good chance they'll deal with it more directly this season.
