Ah, happier times. (What? They WERE. *facepalm*)

This whole paragraph ...

Hibiscus, though, didn’t go without a fight. Dean got beaned-‘They were sweet peas, Sam, and it’s not funny’-by a vase in the florist’s workspace, and they both got slashes that stung like a motherfucker with all the salt flying around. After debating the pros and cons of leaving untorched a hothouse full of potentially evil orchids that might wreak havoc come corsage season (‘Dude, that would be the most awesome prom ever!’ ‘Dean!’), they consecrated the irrigation tank and left the decision to Nature. Or whatever.

Is hysterical. *lmao*

As for the rest, great job! Dean is grumpy, Sam snaps back, Dean is hurt, Sam is hurt worse, Dean sends out the olive branch, Sam takes it but with a bitchface. It's like, the Winchester family formula or something. ;-)

Thanks for sharing! Is it September yet?

Oh *wistful sigh*...season one....

This was lovely.
Great banter between them, spot on emotional responses and characterisation.
As always, fabulous work.

I'd almost forgotten how much I missed it until I was rewatching the eps to jump-start the creative juices to finish the story. Those were good times.

Thanks for commenting. It's good that there's still an audience for early-series fics.

Thank you! One of the frustrations of writing this story is that I really did start it in the middle of Season One, and had to continually edit it to take out things that were contradicted by the show's subsequent development or just didn't ring true anymore. So it was good to able to put something in instead of taking it out.
