"Oops sorry" would be the Aussie reaction, but this is American! By definition, there needs to be a fraught, analytical reaction instilling universal truth and emotional equilibrium! I think the British method would be to quickly, quietly shut the door again and blush on the other side of it till dinnertime. ;)
