Sandkaker or Norwegian Sand Cookies

Recipe taken from a family translation of Froken Schonbergs Kokebok for Hver Dag i Aaret, Oslo 1927 (Mrs. Schonbergs Cookbook for Each Day in the Year). This is also the same book that has Lutefiske, so if someone has a burning urge to cook salted cod drop me a line, eh?

Hey, I eat salt cod whenever I can afford it, being of old Newfie and Maine stock. Salt cod is the only way to go when you're making chowder.

Ah, but do you eat Lutefiske? It's the bane of all of Scandinavian extract. Do you want me to post the recipe?

Never had it, but I'm familiar with it. Someday, perhaps, I'll try it. I tend to consider weird foods a personal challenge. :) That's how I discovered I really like haggis.
