Liverpool in for Spanish starlet Javi Martinez

Rafa Benitez has lined up Athletic Bilbao midfielder Javi Martinez as a long-term replacement for Xabi Alonso.

Martinez is regarded as one of the best prospects in Spain. And Bilbao, who have the 20-year-old under contract until 2012, want around £10m.

You know my opinion on the transfer itself, don't you? Ah, why does it have to be such a difficult decision? And those 10 facts about Javi are awesome - honestly, he sounds like he could improve EVERY team, so I'm really surprised that so far he's only been linked to two clubs...

And how awesome would it be if he got called up for the Spanish NT? :D That should add a couple of millions to his price tag... ;)
