SO EXCITED!  A whole volume of real, academic analysis of Show!  And Fandom!  And the weird, blurry boundary between the aforementioned!!! *flail*

Thanks so much for pointing in the direction of the SPN articles. I just read the one dealing with The Monster at the End of this Book and it was really fascinating! Can't wait to read more!

No prob! I wanted to reply once I actually read thru some of the essays, but I'm still only two in. There's a real bias towards the fandom specific elements of SPN, which is nice, but I kind of prefer things that are straight up about the show. *shrugs* Also, the mpreg fic they quote is TERRIBLE.

If you're interested and haven't bumped across it already, amonitrate is doing a series on the dysfunctional aspects of the Winchester clan, which is also not directly up my alley, but is well researched and well written, and worth a look.
