That whole airport scene in Argo was such a nail biter! People have remarked that the real situation wasn't anywhere near that tense and actually went rather smoothly, but come on. It's a movie - they've got to up the ante. And they did it well. It didn't happen when I went, but I've heard several people say that their audience burst into applause when the plane finally took off.

I also love that the movie pays some respect to Jimmy Carter.

I enjoyed getting to see and hear Carter, but during the movie I was thinking, "Oh, crap, we never heard about our people getting them out of there when it happened because if we'd taken credit it would have endangered the hostages!" And then on top of that you had Ollie North and Reagan and that crowd conspiring to keep the hostages in Iran until the 1980 election was over, to make Carter look bad. Grrrr.

Our family is full of Carter fans--my oldest niece and her husband actually named their oldest son after him:Carter James.
