[It's on video, but Ciel thinks it's on Voice at first; so Al will be able to see the quite worried expression douse over the boy's face whether Ciel likes it or not.]
How did..? [Al's not supposed to be in the clinic, looking that pale and that... down. It's throwing the balance of his already crazy life off again.]
[Momentary silence. Alphonse is startled almost enough to jump. He had no idea Ciel cared about his well-being, the boy hides it so well, most of the time.]
... I was at the river last night, and I was attacked by a monster. It crushed my arm and I lost a lot of blood.
I was at the river because I was taking a walk, and I couldn't sleep. I go there a lot to unwind. The monster came up out of the water, it was too dark, and I wasn't fast enough. It caught me by the arm and crushed it... it wasn't pretty.
I need both hands to be able to do alchemy, and it was holding me by that arm, off the ground.
... I was careless. [There's enough anger at himself in those three words to make it clear he's telling the truth.]

Maybe people wouldn't worry and maybe you'd be happier if you started talking to people more.

Sorry.

-=Yes, he's concerned for his 'little brother' friend.=-

[And yes, Al knows Gong-gil probably saw the 'broken arm' before Ms. Unohana managed to treat him. He just doesn't want him to worry.]

-=And Gong-gil is wise enough to keep things vague.=-

Huh, that's a lot of crab meat.
[Mind drifting off to other places.]
Are you you are going to be alright?

Yeah, I'm just resting now. I'm fine, this is mostly formality.

I'm... okay now, honest.

And nice try, Alphonse, but I don't believe you.
