[When the journal starts recording, there is - at first - no unusual noise. After a few moments, though, comes a groan, the voice definitely female and probably young...ish. A couple of muttered words, too low or too far away to be distinguishable, then-]

[Fucking journals pick the worst times to decide they want to make noise.]

[There may have been stranger things in town, but that doesn't make it any less intimidating when a bear walks about. The only thing keeping her from drawing one of her knives is that fact that it's carrying a journal and has wings. Her body language still errs on cautious as she comes closer.]

[And Rachel's seen enough combat in the past three years to know the tense stance that precedes it - and she's pretty sure why this girl hasn't attacked yet.]

< I'm not gonna chase you and I don't want to eat you, you don't have to freak out. >

[Why yes that thought is in your head. And, if the fact that the bear is turning its head towards Tear is an indication, it's coming from the big furry animal in front of her.]

[... It spoke. In her head. The melodist tries to relax, but it's a little hard when you encounter an animal that seems abnormal from the others here.]

... You're a New Feather?

[That would be because "abnormal" is about the most mild way of putting it.]

< Yeah, but I'm not really new, I've been here before. Not sure how long it's been since that, but I don't need the lecture. >

[At first, everything seemed almost normal in Luceti. You know. Cold. Miserable. Unfair. Annoying. But it isn't until Draco comes across the giant polar bear with wings that he actually pauses to wonder what's actually happened.]

...you're late, you know.

[Action] *snugs* It's fine bb, this week hasn't been very good to me either blondexena January 19 2011, 03:49:05 UTC
[And... well, Rachel's very tempted to have some fun with Princess. Please ignore the fact that her wings are even the same color they were last time, because the polar bear's going to shuffle over to you in that deceptively slow way of theirs until it gets right in his face. And starts sniffing, like maybe it's wondering how this interesting thing might taste.]

[Action] So I heard :( /hug Sorry I haven't been around AIM much, but <3 hisdarkmark January 20 2011, 18:07:40 UTC
...[OKAY. MAYBE THIS WAS A BAD IDEA. Draco's going to hold very still though as that polar bear starts sniffing him. What other random arctic creature could be sent to Luceti though? It has to be her.

...maybe?]

Usually people exchange greetings, you realize.

[Action] It's okay, I haven't either *hugs* At least we know when the funeral is, now. blondexena January 20 2011, 18:12:01 UTC
[And the 'random arctic creature is going to lean up and snort heavily into his face, making little bits of hair fly up from the wind's passing.]

[And then it's going to drop down into its standard stance again and begin ambling away once more - and only when it's about ten feet off does Rachel reply.]

< Awww, and here I thought dangerous carnivores were exempt from that. >
