"Dinah!" There had been a need for a doughnut run, okay? And a checking in on a kittified little sib. And pre-doughnuts there was no Dinah, and post-doughnuts there was, and Francine hadn't seen her since she got back. So.

"Francine! Hi! Join us, Chad is on our TV!" Dinah said, pointing. "And yay for cabin-mates!"

"Oooh, did his show start?" Francine bounced over and plopped down beside her, holding out the doughnut bag as she did so. "Here. Baked goods."

"Yes! You haven't missed anything except shrieking crowds and self-important divas," Dinah said, offering the bowl of popcorn as her eyes lit up and she took the doughnut bag. "Thanks! Nom nom nom pastry, come to me."

"...Isn't that the entire show?" Not that she'd seen this one before, but. Model show.

"Well, yeaaah," Dinah admitted. "But there were more of them!" She grinned, then pointed, "Oh oh oh, here he comes!"

Chad came out to walk the walk and talk about his name.

"... what was that about his Japanese heritage?"

And that's popcorn being TK'd at the screen.

"Wow, that was rude," said Francine, who caught all of it. "That's like asking me if I'm ashamed of my grandmother just because I go by my middle name, or something."

"Dude!" Dinah's outrage necessitated sock-throwing now. "Very not cool. Sheeeesh. I'm watching you, panelist number two. Man." She took a bite of a doughnut, and hummed happily for a moment as she chewed, then asked, "Did I miss anything besides hordes of confused newbies this weekend? Any of them stand out as memorable?"

"I was trying for slow stages of weirdness-exposure with my new little sister," Francine said, reaching for some popcorn. "And then Fandom decided to be helpful and turn her into a cat last night."

Dinah's jaw dropped. "Wow. That was fast. And how come she gets to be a cat, and not me?"

Because Merlin wouldn't turn her into one. Oh. Right. Dinah's face fell for a couple seconds, then she rallied enough to ask, "Is she okay? I mean, is the cat-her freaking out?"

"She seemed to be okay. Her roomie's taking care of her. I saw them at the campfire on the way here. She was busy trying to bum s'mores, so I guess she can't be too freaked out."

"Well.... cool." Dinah had to grin at that, and relax a little. She bit her lip, and asked, "Merlin and Arthur good? I missed salle practice today, my portal stranded me in Miami for six hours."

Francine facepalmed a little. "Merlin and I need our phones taken away. Or Arthur needs to stop letting him text while he's in the salle."

"Why?" Dinah asked, diverted from her own Merlin-woes. "What did you guys do?"

"Accidentally sent kissing-related texts to Arthur instead of each other?"

Dinah stared at her a moment, until her brain caught up with the tiny voice, then facepalmed. And had to laugh, just a little. "Oh, wow, I am sorry I missed that reaction."
