I wanted to mow the lawn today, except it looks like it isn't going to happen. I've tried for 3 hours to get the mower to stay started and it won't. I'll keep trying at least until it gets dark.

Or I run screaming into the woods.  *headdesk*

I went downtown to the Red Wings celebration. I hung around Hart Plaza so I didn't get to see the actual parade. I thought about it, but figured I probably wouldn't be able to get very close. Trying to get a good spot at Hart Plaza was difficult enough.

I just went and dropped off my rent. It is 34° (F) outside. On the way to the office, I passed an apartment in which the occupants have their air conditioner turned on. I keep my thermostat set between 70 and 80°. I don't care how low they may have it set, I feel even colder now just thinking about it. I doubt they have it set in order to make it ( Read more... )

I hadn't consciously intended to support the LJ boycott yesterday. I was just busy. I went over to S.'s house on Thursday late afternoon. We just hung out the rest of the afternoon & into the night watching TV (he has basic cable, I don't) when I fell asleep on the couch. There is a rock salt shortage. Some cities are saying only their main roads will be salted. Some cities are using salt brine, while others are mixing the salt with sand. I wonder if the main road my apartment complex is on will get anything. It borders 4 or 5 different cities and was never plowed in the morning. If it snows during the morning or ( Read more... )

My cat loves to go out on the patio. I usually let her out in the spring/summer--under supervision of course. One time I stepped inside to grab a broom to sweep it off & she had jumped off & went underneath. As you can see, the patio is several inches off the ground:

I was supposed to drive back home today. Not only did my car have a couple layers of ice on it, but D.'s dad came to pick him up & take him somewhere and he said the roads were not very good. Icy.
