Time Capsule Opening at the Elementary School Where I Went

May 03, 2009 21:37

They were going to originally wait 100 years and whoever was around would dig it up in 2079. It ended up somewhat of a disaster.

I hope you're feeling better! Looks like it was a good thing the time capsule was opened early-- looks like a bit was at least somewhat readable. *laughs* I've been trying to figure out why I didn't remember this and then remembered-- oh yeah, we moved when I was in fifth grade, that;s why! *headsmack*

I seem to be ok today, thank you.

Lol, yeah, Melissa & I debated as to whether or not you went to Stuckey. We couldn't remember you being in the school during 6th grade, but we remembered pushing you around the school halls in the wheelchair after your foot surgery ;)

It is too bad. I was already out of the school when they buried it but we funded it the year before and were told something would go in representing 1978. I'm guessing it was pictures that got ruined because we couldn't find anything. The guy who opened the capsule said the next one would be sealed better. We also noticed some things for the next one were laminated with heavy plastic.
