War of the Worlds

A couple of friends from DC visited me over the weekend. But, being in little Ithaca, it's easy to run out of things to do. So naturally, we ended up at the movie theater. We went to see War of the Worlds. My overall assessment: don't waste your money. It's captures, pretty well, the sentiments of the book, so there's no interesting interpretation ( Read more... )

I think the difference lies in the assumption that God created Earth and humanity and therefore has a degree of ownership of us. He can destroy or uplift us as he chooses. The aliens were outsiders and invaders exerting influence where they had no right to do so ( ... )

I prefer god who doesn't mind dog hair too. God knew what potentially would happen when creating humans. It just seems that the book of Revelation is scewed toward hypocrite god. Maybe the author John was a hypocrite-god fan?
