I keep meaning to post other things but that keeps not happening. At least SOTY posts are keeping me writing, even if this one is late

There's still time to grow another round of cilantro? Will the one I let go to seed do that by itself?
I saturated the dooryard spot with bulbs, to make Hubby happy. The last months, it's looked kindof sad. Visitors are coming in two weeks, so I spent last weekend putting yellow flowers in there. I expected to hit bulbs in every hole, but only saw one. You must not have deer, if you have hostas blooming. The nurseryman looked at my cart of yellow flowers and said, "You have deer." He can tell by the flower choices. I was amused. Crepe myrtles and Rose of Sharon just started making the yard pink. What blooms for the longest in your yard? Enjoy your nap!
Assuming your climate is just like ours, no, this year's coriander won't regrow into cilantro this season, but it should next spring if you keep ignoring it. The seed pods have to ripen and dry up and fall off before they'll sprout again, and mine are still mostly green. I get one large volunteer batch every spring, then it usually bolts by mid june. Reseeding anytime this or even next month should bring a second full batch, though

I loooooove those flowers! I have to consider this in long-term plans, though, because the places that I think Rose of Sharon would go in my yard are currently places where there are existing trees/shrubs, and those would need to be taken care of first. Then I need to figure out how to mould it properly; I have a neighbor who grows it into a hedge, and another one who grows it into a tree, and I think I like the tree version better, as long as it fits.
Lavender is a perennial, so I can't imagine anybody being remotely bothered by giving you a few roots. Just gotta get up the nerve to ask. Good luck!
