*hugs* well this just shows that you are a caring and compassionate person. You know, I have encountered this a bit, having so many immigrant friends. And it's something that will be more common with our generation as more and more of us decide to not get married/are unable to find a partner/ do not have kids. I think, often, friends DO become family. And, in some cases, they are BETTER family than blood.
god yes, immigrants. i feel such fury when i hear/see people going on about immigrants & refugees. i HATE the "fuck off we're full" stickers that ppl are putting on their cars etc. makes my blood boil so bad. some ppl just don't GET that people don't just up and leave their country for no reason. ugh.
have you watched the Luke Wilson movie called "Idiocracy"?
it's a bit crazy, but the basic premise is actually SCARY - as more and more 'intelligent' people wait to have kids until their job/house/income/education is ready for it, more and more 'stupids' go out and have kids. then by the time the 'intelligents' are ready, they are physically unable to. resulting in a world of IDIOTS.
Jeez, so much to think about here. Death, I feel death can often be one of the most rewarding things we experience in life. The images of my mom passing with my sister, myself and all my kids by her side, me holding her hand, will always be with me. Mom was always very conscious, too much so, of her body and looking just perfect. Never would her nails need done, they were always freshly done. I will always see in my mind, Leah, sitting beside mom, just like she did each week, doing her nails for her, just 4 hours before she died. It was a very enriching experience.Experiencing her death as we did brought more to my life than most anything has. My dad died by himself in his home in Penn, we didn't even know he was that sick, he chose to not let us worry i guess. IT was much harder to deal with than moms passing mostly because we were there with her I think
