Haha! He's a TB right? Don't you just love how they get with some time off? My mare gets just like how you described when she hasn't been ridden in a week or two.
Sounds like a tough ride, but a good one. Scary losing your reins like that...glad it turned out ok. :-) It sounds like you rode REALLY WELL. Way to have some balls (or ovaries of steel as I like to say...).
