We left early this morning for home. I slept most of the way back and I slept when I got home. Guess I couldn't get much sleep there last night. I'm used to being in my own bed amidst all my familiar surroundings ( Read more... )

I HIGHLY recommend Battlestar Galactica. It's a show for people who think. You can start with the miniseries now, it'll give you something to think about until you get the entire series. If you want it, let me know. *wink*

Definetly. I'm going to watch the new series. Amazon's got everything up to season 4.0 I watched the midseason premere the other night and really enjoyed it even though I'm so very far behind. I thought it'd be some series with filler after filler episode where they go from planet to planet meeting new races but from what I've read, the writers keep a strong focus on the main story throughout the series. So needless to say, I was hooked when I watched it on Friday.

Oooh! *claps* I'm so glad! :D I can't even imagine coming into the show at the beginning of 4.5, I'd be hopelessly lost. I fell in love with the miniseries and actually bought a bootleg copy off eBay a few months before Amazon put it out. In my defense, I will say that I did buy the miniseries and ended up with ANOTHER copy of it when I bought the S1 DVDs. I gave my standalone copy away. (I also gave my bootleg copy away.)

Also, the music on this show is FANTASTIC. You can do worse than buy the series soundtracks. The miniseries is great but I think S2 is the best one. I'm anxiously awaiting the S4 soundtrack, that'll probably come out with the 4.5 DVDs (I should ask somebody).

See what you did?! You're making me enthusiastic about the show again. (It's really tough after months-long hiatuses and falling in love with House.)

haha! Yeah, I've been told I have that effect on long time fans of shows like this one whenever I start watching. I hear they're working on some special multipart episode or maybe it's another movie/mini series, but it's called The Plan and I think it's supposed to air after 4.5 is finished. Or maybe it'll be the final 3 or so episodes aired at the same time.
Yeah, I've really enjoyed the music so far. It's nice to know that they've released soundtracks pertaining to each season. You don't see much of that these days.

Wow, I don't think I could eat 5 doughnuts in a row. Saying that though, once when I was loads younger, I ate a bar of galaxy that was 50 squares all in one night.

Yeah, I can't believe I did 5 in a row either! haha! Two's enough for me these days. What's galaxy? I don't think I've heard of that.

HI, it's a type of chocolate, and it's lush. It's quite milky. It's probably my favourite type of chocolate, it's just plain and comes in a bar, but it's really nice anyway.

Angel is such a gorgeous name :) I shall put it in my "what-I-Can-Name-My-Babies" list hehe.

I should watch some more tmnt episodes, at the moment all I watch are youtube tmnt music videos. Sounds like you have some good tv watching coming up. Enjoy!

Yep, I've always liked the name Angel. If I ever get married and start a family, it's certainly something I'd consider naming a girl.
TMNT 2k3 does make for interesting TV in the evenings. My problem is that I never know when to stop because the story arcs are ongoing, but I usually ration them out to about 2 eps an evening.

2 eps sounds good. I used to get carried away and watch about 10 everytime I sat down hehe.

Yeah, that's what I used to do. About 10 eps at once. I still do that some weekends. Hell, some of the story arcs are so well-written, you can't stop with just 2.

I actually prefer to wait until a show goes off the air and pick them up on DVD.
I suck at delayed gratification and that way I can sit down and watch them all at once.
I watched Bab 5 in one weekend start to finish.

We're working our way through Xena right now… though that will go a little slower with the necessity of netflixing episodes.

Yeah, that's me. I do that with DVDs. I own all the Xena eps as well as Hercules. The 5th season of Xena is just amazing. I won't give anything away though. I love the villains in both series, especially Ares and Callisto, so I had to pick up all 6 seasons of both. There was really no way around it.

See seasons 1 - 4 were my favorites.
I hated the "Kill all the Gods and make her Christan" routine.
What I loved about Xena was that there weren't all that many true "villains" just complicated people doing things we may not agree with.

I mean the only difference between Callisto and Xena was that Hercules never managed to save Callisto. And Aries was what he was born to be - you don't despise a wolf for hunting... that is just the course of their nature.

Yeah, I liked the Dahak story arc that spread itself throughout both Herc and Xena. The whole Twilight of the Gods thing was very interesting, but it the Xenaverse seemed rather empty without all the Gods running around. I wish they could have done a few more episodes with Caesar and Rome before killing him off ( ... )
