Alright. That was ... weird. Tristan just kind of fled and now Iggy was standing there, hands bloody, and a bit disoritented. Abandoning a blind person, even one that wasn't human, was a Bad Thing ( Read more... )

We're so sorry about Tristan. >.> He'll totally apologize next time he sees Iggy.

Delilah's easy to find - she's always in the same spots, either sowing in the common room or outside, breathing the cool air.

In fact, if Iggy returns to the skin - he might find Delilah there, staring at it with wide eyes.

It's huge - she hasn't seen anything like this in a long time.

"Oh, no," she replies, shaking her head. "Two days is how long it will take to be ready for cleaning. Then we'll be working hard to remove the meat, the nerves and the maggots."

Iggy pales a bit, not at the idea of maggots, no, but actually at the idea of the meat going to waste.

"Okay. I can do that. Um, I'm sorry if this is going to be a hassle..." He wasn't expecting it to be so soon.

There probably isn't much meat, though, if it helps at all.

"Are you sure? You look like you're going to be sick..."

"No, no. It's cool. I'm fine." He took a deep breath to try and calm down. "Okay. So, what do we do first? The salt, right?"

"Yes - we'll need to find buckets and get the salt from the magic cupboard. Come."

And she starts towards the house.

"Uh. yeah." He follows along behind her, one hand on the railing and trailing over various things as he moved to keep himself oriented.

She'll glance over her shoulder occasionally - she's always impressed with how adapted he is to any given situation.

The door to the kitchen will be kept open for him.

"Here -- I guess I'll have to look under the cupboards..."

"I'll get the salt then." He heads for the cupboard, rummaging around until he comes across a large bag. It's heavy. It's really big. And, after opening it and tasting a bit, Iggy is grateful to find that it is salt.

All hail the 'magic cupboard'.

Indeed, all hail the plothole and its many wonders!

After some rummaging in the cupboards, Delilah finds two buckets, and turns around with a triumphant woop! "--- heee, it worked!" she says, very pleased, when she sees the bag and the look on Iggy's face.

"It worked?" Color Iggy confused. He takes the bag down and sets it on the floor. "What worked?"

"The magic cupboard." She grins, and laughs, and claps her hands. "I always worry it will stop working, or something."

"That'd be awful with so many people to feed here." Iggy wouldn't really mind, but he's gotten kind of used to regular, filling meals and having to go back to scavanging didn't really seem like fun.

"It really would," she replies. "I wonder how people would fare. Would the land be enough?"

It's happened in previous game-canon, which my older DF puppets all recall. They did not enjoy it. And it lasted over a year, too.

"I don't know if a lot of people here would know how to survive." He'd done a lot of foraging back at the old cabin, but here ... he didn't know the area well enough to do it on his own.

Lame. I'm glad it exists now. ^^

"I think it would probably be very bad," she replies. "But some of us would know - we'd all have to get together, I guess." A shrug, and she looks at the bag.

"That looks very heavy."

It was okay for a time, but it lasted way too long. I'm glad we have a plothole again. ^^
