I envy Elena Gilbert. There i said it. Make no mistake I never confessed it out loud before. But now hearing his thoughts on one of ultimate favorite Damon/Elena scenes.. I envy her. You just get it don't you? get that confusing need Elena has for him. Because that is all I see right now. A very confused girl who has absolutely no idea of the depth of Damon's feelings.

More please

Awww Sweet! Yes, poor Elena has a lot on her plate right. I think even Stefan's stock is plummeting at the moment! LOL.

I don't have any sequel in the works for this. It's just a scene that I HAD TO put down on paper/screen. Like I said in the intro, Damon just would not let go until I was done with this. ;-D

I love that scene to death, because, to me, it is the metaphor of what Damon and Elena's relationship will be, from the original defiance and mistrust, to finding themselves perfectly in sync with each other and very happy to be so. It's still my fav DE scene. Though THE scene in Rose is a close second, which is why I started writing a little something on that. Don't know where it's going yet. But I'll definitely post it here when I'm done.

Thanks for reviewing! :-D

LOL! The idea I'm toying with is that Elena may not remember the facts, but she has a memory of the feelings from that scene with Damon. It's really too early to say more. If you want to be sure to see the story when it's posted, you can go to fanfiction dot net and make me a "favorite author". This way, you'll get a notice when the story is published (I love this option; very convenient!)

Thank you so much for reading and commenting. It's really nice to have the feedback!

I really liked seeing shadows of the old, southern gentleman Damon. This would be an interesting angle for fanfictions in different scenes throughout the shows season and a half! keep writing :)

That's something that I started picking up on after watching that scene over and over (the sacrifices I make for art... :-D ) so I could get all the details right. Because of the setting, of Elena, of his brother, there's no way that Damon didn't have some flashbacks before and during the dance scene. He's got a cool head, so it doesn't show much. Plus he is preoccupied with Elena. But I feel it's there, like a background to everything that happens. It's where he is coming from, who he is. I like how it makes the character even more real and human to us ( ... )

There really is just something about this scene that left such a big impression on me when I watched it. From the moment that Elena descends the stairs to find that Damon has taken his MIA brother's place as her escort to the hesitant smile on Elena's face and the genuine one void of all pretense on Damon's which all goes back to them sustaining that trust that has become the foundation of their relationship. And you capture the essence of the Damon/Elena relationship so well: the confusion, the hesitancy, and finally just giving in to the moment. And you do it with such beautiful restraint when other authors would have jumped the gun to put a label on their feelings when the characters themselves have barely acknowledged that they're there, let alone figure them out. I also loved the glimpses of the Damon Salvatore the gentleman of 1864; so refreshing. Don't get me wrong, I love me some snarky Damon but rarely are we privy to the "polite and innocent" side of him that we forget that he was once like that as a human. There's something ( ... )

Thank you so much. I love reading people's reactions because they always show me things I hadn't seen while I was writing. I would love to know much more about Damon's past. Because the more we discover, the more we find out he was a good man, maybe a little mischevious, but a good person. It gives the measure of how much he went through and suffered (to the point of switching his emotions off entirely because that was the only way to survive.) So much of Damon's story just breaks my heart ( ... )

Thank you! I'm really happy you liked it. It was near and dear to my heart. I really wanted to scrutinize every detail because it felt so significant to me. I hope I'm right and it is truly a metaphor of what Damon and Elena's relationship will become. Because if it is, it's going to be even more epic than it is now! :-)

And I love your icon! Spike was fav vamp until Damon came along! I find a lot of similarities between these two. Both have a great sense of humor, love unconditionally, don't mind a spot of violence, enjoy being vampires. And both were sweet naive romantic fools as humans. Gosh I love these two! :-D

If you reuse the art, can you credit the fabulous Fantasiz_ing? My icon is one of her works as well. Check out her LJ page at some. She's got awesome things there!

This was incredible. Such an amazing take from both viewpoints on one of my favorite Delena scenes.

I'm so happy you enjoyed it! Well you know, when it's an epic love story, with fabulous characters like Damon, you have to try and live up to the legend! LOL! Seriously, Damon was very tough to write for me. But I just couldn't let it be. I had to write this. I needed to express what I thought was going through Damon's mind during this crucial scene. It's like Damon was egging me on! :-D That devil of a man...
