Are you growing the more difficult vegetables? Broccoli is notoriously tricky. Peppers & tomatoes are best grown under glass (unless you have lots of sun & then the tomatoes need masses of water.)
I would say the easiest to grow would be potatoes, most salads, spinach & kale, peas, beans, courgettes, beetroot & any type of squash (pumpkin.) And herbs.
Just a thought! xXx

I haven't gardened in a long time - with climate change the sun/wind/heat/ proximity to salt water has made it inhospitable to gardening
But once upon a time my mother grew everything in Connecticut and I did fairly well in New Jersey.
My question is Sunshine? Is your garden getting enough sun?
Tree roots? Both the shade and the roots limit nourishment. My mother had to move her gardens twice because the trees grew too tall.
I love sunflowers!
I buy them in season on our weekly trip to the farm.
The soup sound interesting.
How do you make it?
Blessings!

I was looking for soup recipes online, and the ones I found call for a butternut squash, 2 cups of water or broth, and ginger. One also calls for a sweet potato and a white potato, and the other for several carrots. Once you get it cooked, you blend it smooth. So I think I will start with that and tweak it.
