I don't envy your task of planning a wedding; I was there not so long ago myself. It's the kind of event that can easily spin out of control if you don't keep it focused. We had our wedding at the Flamingo in Las Vegas; it sounds schmaltzy but it was a lovely service, and the planning on my end was minimal. Just be sure your wedding is what YOU and your fiance want.

Minnesota marriage licenses are only valid in Minnesota. There is a waiting period on New York licenses, 24 hours I believe... though that shouldn't be relevant. The problem may be that you have to apply in person and the paperwork gets mailed out in about 2-3 weeks...

Non-residents cannot obtain a marriage license if the marriage would be void in minnesota-- which should not matter. I'd call the Hennepin County Government center and ask about that, just to be sure nothing comes up.

Also, it is significantly cheaper to get married in New York. When my brother got married I think it was 35.00 for the paperwork.

Depending on the state some now require blood tests.
X.x; You can find out easy from vacation sites for most of the states. I think New York is one of the friendly states because they do big bucks with weddings. You have to apply online though and give it sometimes 6-8weeks. x.x;
