Young Authors

I spent this morning at my old high school, Hahnville High School in Boutte, Louisiana (if you don't know, don't ask) as a judge for the school's annual Young Author's Competition. My friend is a middle school english teacher and for her writing assignments she has to say they are not allowed to write about pimps, hos, drugs, murders, tea-bagging, etc. She even had a parent call in to complain that their child was not allowed to write about his culture bc he couldn't include pimps or hos. She decided that she had to read 130 stories and she didn't want to read 130 pieces of trash.
