I have one class of overachievers....overachieving ADHD and learning disabled kids = fun times and no silence and you have to make everything a game. But, they has a class homework average of 88 B last quarter, whereas one of my classes had a HW average of 70 C- and the other had an average of 74 C. Their report card averages for the writing class and the reading class matched their homework averages. It's bizarre. I bang my head a lot trying to figure it out. And I've realized that it's not anything I do differently. It's all in the kids. I teach the same two classes to the same grade level three times a day. (Do the math...6 classes a day, and my only off-period is second period. And on Fridays, it's last period due to Mass. I'm burning out quickly. Plus, I have media club in the middle of the day twice a week. Sigh. Wait 'til next year. Kinda like the Saints and the Super Bowl, I guess.) And I am like a record player. It's all in the kids.
