Well, after not hearing from Steve Berman of Lethe Press for two months, despite sending him three polite reminders that he had not sent me the agreement to re-print, he contacted me this morning to let me know he was no longer interested in publishing my novel. He sounds very unprofessional for taking the "let's hide and hope she goes away" tactic so it's probably a bullet dodged for you anyway. Can I recommend submitting to Wilde City Press? I think they could appreciate your work.

Hey, thanks for the tip. I'm already somewhat "over" the Lethe Press thing. It helps that I refrained from telling anyone in my "real" life about it. I think I had an odd feeling that it wouldn't pan out ultimately. It all seemed to fall into place way too easily.

I've never heard of Wilde City Press. I'll definitely look into it and, if it seems feasible, give them a shot.

I do that, too - I never talk about things in case they don't pan out, it's too raw.

They're a pretty new press, but I know the people involved and think they're clever enough to make a great success of it. Unlike a lot of presses, they love promoting a variety of genres, and they have good book jacket art (also not typical of many). I do some freelance editing for them and know they have several truly talented writers on list.
