Oh, The Pain!

Mar 02, 2006 21:30

So this morning I had my second training session with Beth, and my legs are so sore it's not even funny. Ugh! She put me on the ellipticals for 15 minutes to warm up. I never really liked them to begin with, since they make my quads very sore within minutes. Afterwards, we did 2 sets of 15 upper body and leg workouts on machines and free weights ( Read more... )

Oh, I love it! It can be hard as hell at times, but focusing on the long-term goals has really helped me. Can't wait 'til later on to see how I do!

You know, whenever I run on the elliptical, I get the same kind of feeling. Is it the Precor brand? That's what I use at the gym, and you can adjust it's incline to target different muscles. I make it work my calves more, since that's where I lack most in my legs. BUT I think it's absolutely great that you're seeing a personal trainer and are really enjoying the positive changes that it's making. Don't worry, the soreness will fade sooner than you think. Whirpool tubs are a plus, most definitely.

I'm counting down until I get to see Delirium. I'll be ready to give you a full report!

I think it might be the Precor band in fact, but I'll find out today actually. I used to use the ellipticals at the rec center on campus, but I was never in that much pain at all! It's kind of annoying, because my lower body is less of a problem area than my upper body and I don't see the point in pushing it on the ellipticals. I couldn't move yesterday but I feel so much better now!

You're seeing Delirium? That's awesome! I hadn't seen anything Cirque du Soleil-related in so long!

Yeah, it's weird though how people work their bodies differently with someone behind them saying, "Faster, Harder!!" And the work you to on the elliptical will affect your entire body. Not to worry. Is that the only form of cardio you do? I also like to use the rowing machine. Those are GREAT fun!

Yeah, I'm worried about seeing it, though, because our tickets were moved and we have no idea where they were moved to until we get there at the performance. Makes me nervous, because those tickets were EXPENSIVE!

She specifically puts me on ellipticals and sometimes the treadmill. I do have a treadmill at home that I use too and I think she wants me to go ahead and also try some of her spin classes. I'm excited about the end result!

Wow, I hope you have fun and that you have great seats!
