[ He knew this was the last time they were ever going to see each other. He knew that he was leaving and that she alone would be the one with the memories of their short time together. Short for him at least, and yet- there is no doubt that it was a time to be treasured and remembered despite of that. Someday she will also leave this place, and ( Read more... )

[ She doesn't know why exactly, but.. there's somewhat of a slightly sad feeling about today. Even if she's really happy and glad that Japan went through all the effort of taking her out to this place, she still can't shake off the feeling that something is off.

But there's no reason to worry too much about that right now, not when she's here at this mall with Japan. She should focus on having fun with a person she gets along with, she understands that much. And so Nadeko puts a tiny smile on her face. ]

I'm glad.. Thank you, Japan-san. [ a nod. ] The toy store sounds like fun to me. I'd like to look at all the cute plushies..

Yes. Think of it as a father taking out his daughter for that purpose. I do not usually play this role we've been given very well, because we are not related, but... Sengoku-san is one of my citizens, and the country's citizens are their children. I decided to make an exception for at least one day.

... Hmm.

[ She actually looks a little happy at that - maybe she's even blushing slightly, and she happily closes her eyes for a moment as she thinks of the warm thought. ]

If you put it that way.. It sounds really warm and like a lot of fun.. [ For a moment she's nervously quiet, as if she isn't sure whether to ask this, but.. ] T-t-then, Japan-san, I have.. one request, if that's okay..

If today Japan-san will play a father of sorts for me, then..

[ There's another moment of nervous fumbling before she just decides to throw it out. ]

T-then.. would calling Japan-san 'papa' for the day b-be okay?

[ For a moment, he looks a little surprised at first--as though that was the last thing he was expecting her to say. Then, he will place his hand upon Nadeko's head, and give her a gentle, affectionate pat. ]

Yes, it would. I would really like that, actually. I have never been called that before.

[ And with that, her face lights up again. More than it did before, really, since this is just such an exciting and happy idea to her, to have her not!father be a real surrogate dad.. ]

... H.. hmm! Thank you very much.. papa. [ And she smiles brightly, enough to overshadow her usual shyness. ]
