We should (finally) be getting 1Mb ADSL at home next week, so no more excuses from me :).

Now I just have to resurrect my old PC with a new HDD and run some Cat5 cabling around the house (which will probably transpire as running around the house tripping over things whilst tangled up in the aforementioned cable!). Fun!

Aye. That's assuming it all works out properly :). I have a cheap wired router (I often wonder who got our old router in the end?) so far and we'll be with the same ISP as you. Looks like I might have to go for 11g tho...
