This tied-up rain-delay business is the Philliest thing ever.

So I drove 45 minutes south to watch that fucking game last night. Yes, I realize there are televisions closer, but none of you bastards offered to cook me dinner and watch the game with me. [Well, except for the bastard who did. Thanks. :)] And I got home at 2am and I've had 3 hours of sleep and I AM NOT HAPPY. Well, I'm not happy to be at ( Read more... )

Totally Philly! I mean, we've waited how long for a championship win?

I know, and it's still brutal out, I'd be VERY surprised if they play tonight.

Funny you should mention. We had what should have been a leisurely layover in Philly on Saturday, except that our flight from Portland was two hours late due to severe rain and wind. While grabbing a pizza slice, I overheard someone say that the game WASN'T going to be called. Dude? Airplanes ain't going in and out of the airport, but it was OK to have a baseball game? Makes no sense.

Ha, yeah. I think the city is collectively SO IMPATIENT right now. And it is seriously brutal out there. Like, constant wind and no sign of the rain letting up.

This morning I read about how Tampa was shacked up in DE because they'd already checked out of their hotel in Philly. It occurred to me that they must have been at the Hyatt. :)

I echo your frustrations. I walked about 3/4 of a mile to an Irish pub to watch a few innings, but left at the bottom of the fourth. No one I knew was about, and I'm not too keen on sitting in a bar alone.

Well guess what? If the game IS tonight (Wed) you can come to my house to watch if you want. AND, I actually HAVE PHILLY HOT DOGS. AND Milburns apple cider DONUTS.

And hey there Italo-boyo! They stayed at the Hotel duPont and I heard something on the radio this ayem that reported they claimed it was the best hotel they ever stayed in!)
